Jennifer M. Lewin, L.Ac.(USA), MAOM, IMT, C. is a licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist (USA) and Certified Integrative Manual Therapist. Jennifer has been practicing Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT) since 1997, in both the US and Hong Kong. In addition to completing a certification in IMT at the Connecticut School of Integrative Manual Therapy, Jennifer spent several years training under the direct mentorship of Dr. Sharon Weiselfish-Giammatteo, the founder of IMT. From 1999 to 2003, Jennifer worked as an Integrative Manual Therapist in Hong Kong. While in Asia, Jennifer developed an interest in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. In 2003, Jennifer moved back to the US to obtain a Master’s degree in Acupuncture (Chinese and Japanese styles) and Herbal Medicine at the New England School of Acupuncture in Boston. While in Boston, Jennifer continued to treat patients with IMT at Center IMT Boston. In 2007, Jennifer became a licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist in the US.
For patient care, Jennifer combines IMT’s structural manipulative techniques with IMT focused nutritional counseling (i.e. natural supplements, diet, Western herbs, homeopathic remedies), East Asian Medicine principles and psycho-therapeutic techniques to develop a customized solution for an individual patient’s needs.
Jennifer has a strong commitment to continuing education, and in order to stay up to date with new information in her fields of practice she regularly attends international courses, seminars and conferences from experts in the fields of manual therapy, nutritional wellness, psycho-therapeutic techniques and Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.
Jennifer has extensive experience working with the following patient populations: Orthopedic, Chronic Pain, Chronic Illness, Pediatrics – infants and children, Women’s Health –including infertility and pregnancy, Neurologic– including autism and learning disabilities, and Immuno-Compromised patients – including those with asthma, allergies, and auto-immune conditions.
Jennifer is teaching faculty for Dialogues in Contemporary Rehabilitation (DCR) and the Connecticut School of Integrative Manual Therapy (CSIMT), where she teaches IMT seminars internationally. In 2008, Jennifer began teaching an IMT seminar series in Hong Kong. Jennifer also holds a BA in Political Science and Communications from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
