About the Practitioner
After graduating from the British School of Osteopathy Julia continued to deepen her osteopathic studies for several years with the Sutherland Cranial College (UK) and the Akademie fuer Medizin und Lebenskunst in Munich (intergration of structural, visceral and cranial osteopathy)
Julia has worked with patients from all walks of life. Many consult for neck pain, back pain, headaches and excessive muscle tension. These complaints are very common in professionals in sedentary and high stress positions.
She also frequently sees clients with sports injuries or who are recovering from surgery.
Her interest in treating pregnancy-related complaints such as back pain, neck pain, hip pain, pubic symphysis dysfunction, carpal tunnel syndrome, rib pain, breathing problems and postnatal pelvic issues was sparked in Germany where she worked for 4 years in partnership with a midwife practise. She also treats infants for torticollis, reflux, colic, flat head and other head asymmetries.
Combining assessment and treatment techniques of structural, cranial and visceral osteopathy often produce better results for long-term and chronic musculoskeletal issues. A detailed case history and physical examination is necessary to bring the most relevant lesions (areas of the body that do not function like they should) to light. Every treatment becomes easy when the diagnosis is a fit.
Julia also teaches better posture and movement patterns, as many complaints are the result of bad postural habits. The combination of addressing the physical restrictions with teaching awareness and strengthening exercises brings the body quickly into better alignment and gives relieve from many long-standing back, neck and jaw issues.
Julia is fluent in English and German.
