Carla trained in South Africa as a Chiropractor at The Durban Institute of Technology. In early 2002 Carla re-located to Hong Kong, since making it her home for both her and her family. 

Adjunct to her training in South Africa, Carla worked in rural hospitals and community centers across South Africa mainly treating mothers and children.

Prior to opening her own clinic, Carla specialized in flexibility and posture. As a therapist in Hong Kong she found her patients were frequently asking her to refer them to alternative & natural practitioners. Seeing the need for a centre where the public could access and confidently explore natural health alternatives for their family’s healthcare needs she decided to start up her own clinic.  Soon after the December 2002 opening of Balance Health (formerly Balance Asia), it was immediately evident that these services were something that the Hong Kong public were missing.  Balance Health has expanded in response to this demand offering a wide range of complementary health therapies from Osteopathy to Homeopathic medicine.

Carla is committed to her own professional development, having completed both basic and advanced courses in Craniosacral Therapy, Integrative Manual Therapy and Yuen Method.  As an advocate for the natural health industry in Hong Kong, Carla also coordinates a number of healthcare seminars and workshops throughout the calendar year.

Carla’s main interest is in treating the root of the problem to achieve long term results.  Her interests lie in pediatrics and family practice.
