Elaine graduated in 2002 with a BSc Honours degree in Osteopathy from the British School of Osteopathy, London. The degree included extensive study of anatomy, pathology, orthopedics, diagnosis and manual therapies.  Since graduating, Elaine has worked in both private clinics and local authority funded projects in the United Kingdom, and multi-disciplinary and GP clinics here in Hong Kong, working alongside General Practitioners, Physiotherapists, and other Osteopaths.

Prior to joining the team at Balance Health Elaine worked at the Vitality Center and OT&P, and enjoyed treating people of all ages with varied complaints, from newborns to seniors. These included joint and muscle pain, headaches, digestive dysfunction and pre/post natal issues.

Elaine participates in continuing professional development in accordance with the General Osteopathic Council of which she is a member. She has undertaken various post-graduate courses including Craniosacral Therapy and Cranial Osteopathy which have enabled her to use profound yet subtle techniques to make deeper changes in patients of all ages.

"I first visited Balance several years ago for treatment of a shoulder injury. My chiropractor at the time was unable to see me for several weeks and I phoned Balance, having found their contact details in a health directory. I explained that I was in discomfort and though they were fully booked, Karla and Cybele very kindly treated me during their lunch break.

After several sessions I was surprised to find that the treatments were also helping to reduce discomfort I was experiencing elsewhere as a result of an ongoing gynaecological problem, which hadn't responded well to surgery or to hormones. Though Osteopathy wasn't able to cure me of this problem, it's made an amazing difference to the surrounding areas. With each treatment I'm reminded of what it is to feel well again and I always find my sessions with Elaine, whom I now see,  to be an effective combination of hands-on therapy and practical suggestions for things I can do at home to maintain my health.
