Philip graduated from British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy (UK) in Osteopathy and Naturopathy in 1999. He continued working for 4 .5 years in Cranial Osteopathy, specializing in the treatment of children at the world renound Penn Clinic. At this time, he went on to study cranial, and visceral Osteopathy with the top teachers within the United Kingdom. In 2000, he began studying Pilates with polestar and BASI, which he finds to be a very helpful adjuct to his extensive work with rehabilitation and sports injuries. Later he worked as a clinic tutor and teacher of Cranial Osteopathy. Learning Pilates changed Philip’s ideas on what he had learnt in Osteopathic School.
With this in mind he spent time in the last few years studying with a number of teachers. The main focus of his work now draws upon a number of scientific disciplines to assist his manual therapy namely, neuroscience, sports and exercise physiology, psychology and biomechanics. Over the last 3 years he has successfully used this approach to treat a number of high level sports people including junior squash champions, senior power lifting champion, a lot of martial artists, dancers, yoga instructors, rugby players etc. Philip has just completed a 5 month course in advanced functional medicine testing with the Functional Medicine University (US Naturopaths). This is using scientific laboratory testing to diagnose and treat functional health problems.
The emphasis of Philip’s treatment is to teach patients to maintain good musculosketal health and understand their specific condition. To help them gain independence via education, and exercise prescription. Use the latest scientific research in treatment- so that results can be as affective but as gentle as possible. Reduce the risk of further injury by giving appropriate exercises.
