Wendy Lam
Integrative Manual Therapist, Craniosacral Therapist, Physiotherapist

Wendy graduated with a honours degree in Physiotherapy in 2002 and initially joined the Hong Kong Sports Institute where she treated elite athletes both locally and internationally. After practicing with the institute for several years, she left HKSI and began practice at a leading holistic clinic in Hong Kong for three years specializing in treating infants, children and their mums or mums to be. Wendy continues to evolve in her professional training in natural, gentle and effective healing modalities including Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT), Craniosacral Therapy, Nutrition, Yuen Method, NAET and Acupuncture amongst others.

Wendy’s passion for the embodiment of holistic healing and manual therapy began in her volunteering days and also while going to areas where there were no sophisticated and advanced medical equipments and facilities. Representing Operation Concern, a non-profit organization, she regularly went to volunteer with other healthcare experts helping the poor and the needy. She worked there with patients ranging from simple orthopedic problems to severe deformities, burn trauma, cerebral palsy, poliomyelitis and spinal cord injuries.

She specializes in treating infants, children, and their mums or mums to be ranging from conditions such as developmental delay, learning disabilities, autism, poor appetite, colic, reflux, posture deviation and women’s concerns amongst others.  As a mother herself of a young lovely boy, Wendy deeply believes that helping the young generation not only shifts their family dynamics positively, but also optimizes their potential for all our future.  Due to her prior practice at the Hong Kong Sports Institute, she also has extensive experience in treating both acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems as well as a wide range of injuries.

Wendy believes in the innate healing potential within each of us. By locating and treating the root cause of dysfunctions, reopening the line of communications within the body and facilitating the innate ability of the body to heal, Wendy has established excellent results with various disorders in both pediatric and adult patients, including developmental, biomechanical, neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, immune-compromised and digestive health.

“My greatest contentment is seeing patients regaining their health, as well as the awareness of a balanced and healthy living – physically, mentally and spiritually at the earliest possible time and space.”

"My son hurt his head when he was a baby then started having epileptic seizures when he was around 7 years old and has since then been taking anti-epileptic medication. The frequency and the severity of the seizures and the side effects of his medication started me on a journey to find alternative means to alleviate if not to cure his condition. Apart from seizures, he had other challenges - his attention span was short and had difficulty in controlling/expressing his emotions which usually resulted to hitting other people.
My son started seeing Wendy in November 2008 and since then has had major physical and emotional improvements after less than 3 months of therapy. IMT has alleviated his seizures (frequency and severity have decreased dramatically), the school has stopped calling me (the social worker used to call me almost everyday about him loosing his temper in school) and the school principal told me that my son has become a happier boy. He said to me “I am tired of violence.” He used to not like to read but now he can sit down and read for 2 hours straight! This is a great improvement indeed for a boy with a short attention span and who hated reading.
I am very grateful to Wendy who gives homework (yes! parents have to do something at home too) and did not keep me in the dark as to what she is doing and will be working on thus making me actively involved in my son’s journey to health and wholeness." Jocylin, Mother

"My son is autistic, has a general discomfort and tightness especially in the head area. During treatments with Wendy he becomes calmer and I can see an easing of the tension in his body. I believe that IMT treatment contributes to his overall recovery process in conjunction with biomedical intervention and ABA therapy." JK , Mother
